Prelude
Water plays a major role in the life and landscape of the desert southwest. Arizona is blessed with a diversity of streams, from the mighty Colorado River to its lesser tributaries, like the Agua Fria and San Pedro Rivers. Groundwater is also critical in sustaining the growing population across the state.
