* The following pages contain imagery from the Summer
2004 Colorado River and Trail Expedition's (CRATE)
Grand Canyon National Park 9-day natural history expedition down the Colorado
River. |
* If anyone has field trip imagery that they'd like
to post here, email Bob

* Images
and videos are by author noted in the caption. All imagery is copyrighted

* Some text (usually in bold) will be hyperlinked for
further clarification of various terms and concepts. |
* Numerical dates for geologic time are mostly taken
from the International Commission
on Stratigraphy. |
* The rating of river rapids are on the 1-10 scale for western big-river waters. River discharge was a fairly steady 8,000 cfs for most of the trip, thus ratings for low river levels (3,000 to 9,000 cfs) were taken from Stevens (1983). |
