The definition of electric field is:

            q = the charge that is moving through the electric field.

Notice that this definition is a vector equation.  If the charge, q, is positive, then the two vectors in the equation ( and ) have the same direction.  If the charge is negative, then  and   have opposite directions. 

The electric field in this simulation points in direction 1.  The charge moving through that field is positive.  What is the direction of ?
